Write it. We help it find its stage
Ghostlight Theatricals is building a small, curated catalog for schools and community theaters. If you have a play that belongs in those rooms, we would like to read it.
Your play, in front of the right rooms
We read every script
A person reads your play, start to finish, and writes back. Nobody gets a form letter.
One audience, done well
Schools and community theaters are all we serve. Your play reaches the people who are actually looking for it.
Terms in plain language
What you keep and what you are paid are written in plain language, and you see them before you sign anything.
From your draft to a theater's stage
1. Send your play
Tell us about it and share a sample. A logline, a cast size, and the first pages are plenty.
2. We read and reply
If it fits, we talk about the play and how it could work for our theaters. If it does not, you hear that too.
3. Agree in plain words
A short agreement says what you keep, what we license, and what you are paid.
4. We list it
Your play gets its own page and a place in the catalog, with your name on it.
5. Theaters license it
Schools and community theaters request licenses, and we handle the paperwork.
6. You are paid
Your share is calculated and paid out on a regular schedule, with a statement for every license.
Your play stays yours
We license it. We do not buy it. Your copyright and your name stay with you.
- Your copyright, always.
- Your name on every page and every license.
- A clear way to end the agreement.
Application
Before you apply
Do I need to be published?
No. We care about the play. Tell us where it has been produced, if it has.
What kinds of plays do you want?
Plays for schools and community theaters: workable casts, honest stories, and shows a volunteer company can mount well.
Can I see the agreement first?
Yes. We will send it in plain language before you commit to anything.
Do you take every play?
No. The catalog is curated and kept small on purpose, so each title gets real attention.
